reinforces values in a real working relationship, and build a corporate morale.
In a sport such as paintball, strategy and responsibility is not restricted to
the team leader. The sport requires all players to assume different roles on the
team during the game, and responsibilities are constantly shifting as different
positions (forwards, mids, defense) are filled. A sense of camaraderie brings
people from different departments in the workplace together in the zone, to work
together as one team, a clear example of teamwork and how individuals who are
unique can come together to form a wholesome, all-rounded team. By pushing teams
to work together to achieve common goals recreationally, it becomes easier for
them to achieve goals in work environs. Many large corporations like Microsoft,
Citibank, Oracle, Cushman &Wakefield, Ernst & Young and HP have taken the
corporate advantage of this sport; We can assure you that your staff and work
colleagues will love it.
Paintball Formats
Paintball, as previously mentioned, is a team sport where two or more teams of
5-10 people compete against each other to achieve certain goals based on the
various formats of the game. What gives this sport the real adrenalin pump is
the equipment used- similar to actual warfare armor, but with strict safety
regulations to ensure that you can have a great time.
The actual paintball is a small capsule made out of thin gelatin, with
water-based bright, neon colored dye paints inside. The dye paints are
non-toxic, non-caustic, water soluble and biodegradable, and paint stains can be
washed out with mild soap and water. These paintball “bullets” are shot from
paintball guns known as Markers. These markers use pressure controlled CO2
cylinders to fire the paintballs and can go upto 13 paintballs per second. The
look and feel is close to real guns, giving you an adrenaline rush as soon as
hear the first paintball leave your gun, and the first paintball whizz past your
ear!
When a paintball tags a player, the thin gelatin skin splits open, and the
liquid inside leaves a bright “paint" mark. Players who get tagged are
eliminated for a round or for the game, depending on the rules of the game being
played. Protective gear like face masks, chest guards etc. are compulsory as
safety precautions, and also add to the excitement of playing this sport, making
it a truly adventurous experience.
Speedball
Speedball is one of the distinct, generic forms of paintball, the other being
woodsball. Speedball is primarily for competitive play- the zone is leveled and
divided in two halves, and the obstacle layout is mirrored. Obstacles are
usually inflatables that are in different shapes; Cans, Pyramids, Temples,
Snakes, etc. The game format may require players of each team to either capture
the opposition's flag and enter their territory with the flag, or eliminate the
opposition entirely. A single game of speedball may last for anywhere between 2
minutes and 20 minutes, so we can safely say that one round of speedball will
last you on an approximation, 10 minutes. We're talking 10 minutes or
energy-draining physical and mental exertion coupled with an intense adrenaline
boost. The team that either captures the flag, or takes the maximum number of
victims whilst surviving wins. Speedball activities for 30 people will last
around 4 hours. Our zone in Sarjapur offers a world class game of speedball,
with the latest of equipment, and a smooth terrain, also known to train our
Indian Paintball Teams.
Woodsball
The other generic format that paintball is played in, is woodsball. Named after
the woody and forest terrain that this game is played in, woodsball is
CounterStrike in your first life! Woodsball can be played in any natural
setting, and is often played in conjunction with a predetermined story or
scenario play. Woodsballers are known for team co-ordination and fluidity on the
field, rapid maneuvers, cooperation in movement, extensive training, proper
usage of equipment and application of defined team tactics. The field may vary
from zone to zone, and the primary idea behind woodsball would be stealth and
invisibility. A single game may last from anywhere between 5 minutes to 20
minutes to an hour, based on the level of the game played. Our bannerghatta zone
offers a crazy forest terrain, with underground tunnels, camouflaged bunks, mud
trails and perch posts.
